Mount Dora’s Must-See Light Displays

Every year, Mount Dora pulls out all the stops to provide fantastic displays of lights and holiday cheer for its residents—and this year is no exception!

In today’s blog, we’re taking a look at the Mount Dora light displays and holiday events worth checking out this season.

24th Annual Mount Dora Christmas Walk

You’ll feel like you’re “walking in a winter wonderland” at this beloved Downtown Mount Dora event. See the city by foot and soak up the beautiful light displays, live music, shopping, and, of course, a visit by Santa Claus himself. The Christmas Walk takes place on December 2nd from 6 to 9 pm.

56th Annual Christmas Parade

Every city needs a parade to call their own—and Mount Dora’s been doing one for more than fifty years! Celebrate with the city as you watch your favorite floats cruise by on Mount Dora’s city streets. The parade kicks off December 3rd at 10 am. Be sure to call the Mount Dora Lions Club at 352-449-8443 for more details—this is a family event you won’t want to miss out on.

24th Annual Christmas Lighted Boat Parade

While the daytime is reserved for the Annual Christmas Parade, the nighttime is saved for one of Mount Dora’s most spectacular displays of light—the Christmas Lighted Boat Parade! Head to Lake Dora’s Lighthouse on Grantham Point to watch the parade begin, then follow in awe as local boat owners parade their holiday colors for all the city to see. It’s a truly Floridian tradition, one the whole family is sure to enjoy. The free event takes off at 7 pm on December 3rd.

Christmas Tour of Homes

This self-driven tour, which will allow you to cruise past some of the city’s most lavishly-decorated homes, takes place on December 3rd and 4th.

Children's Christmas in the Park with Snow

Florida may be a warm year-round destination, but that doesn’t mean we have to go without snow! Head to Donnelly Park on December 10th to enjoy the classic wintertime spectacle of snow flurries, which you and your family can actually sled through! The event kicks off at 5 pm, and is free for all to enjoy.

Which one of these Mount Dora classics is your favorite? We hope to see you at these exciting events throughout the season!
